On 25th October 2024, a severe cyclone
hits Odisha. Due to the severe effect of cyclone, some parts of the Odisha
streets, hospital is flooded and water logging. The state is likely to continue
severe due to heavy rainfall and cyclone as it will weaken on Friday. Many parts
of the street trees are uprooted and due to which, fire safety service team
cope up in removing the uprooted trees which is blocking the road as many find inconvenient
to commute the road. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) the cyclonic storm Dana moves from north towards north westwards with a
speed of 12 kmph and lay centred over north coastal Odisha about 15
km north of Dhamara and 30 km north to northwest of Habalikhati
nature camp Bhitarkanika. According to the West Bengal Chief Minister,
Mamata Banerjee, one person died in the state of West Bengal due to the
impact of the Odisha cyclone Dana. The source said that, the man died in
his residence while conducting some cable related works and the body is sent
for post mortem from which the cause of the death will be clear. Large parts of
the Kolkata also faced severe problem such as water logging due to the
wide spread of the cyclonic Dana which happen in Odisha. The India
Meteorological Department (IMD) also alarm the neighbouring states of Bihar, northeast to take precaution as there is a possibility of thunderstorm, lightning,
heavy rainfall and strong wind pressure due to the impact of the cyclone
Dana.
