Proud moment for the Zeliangrongpui kindred tribes in Manipur. The REC open talent hunt boxing programme which was held at Guwahati, Assam from 14th to 30th September, 2024 won a Gold Medal from Manipur. The Gold Medalist who won from Manipur under sub junior girls belong to Rongmei tribe Ms. Lamameilu Gangmei D/O (L) Romesh Gangmei and (L) Romita Gangmeipui of Namdunlong, Imphal. She belong to Rongmei tribe and won a Gold Medalist 43-46 kg weight boxing category under Manipur sub junior girls. Many Civil Society from Namdunlong, Imphal and Rongmei Civil Society Organization (CSO) such as Rongmei Naga Student Organization Manipur (RNSOM) and Rongmei Naga Youth Organization Manipur (RNYOM) have taken a reception of her home coming at Imphal Airport. Ms. Gunsalu Khumba D/O Mr. Kahoreiba Khumba and Mrs. Thangsapi Khumba from Oktan (Puichi) Village, Noney District Manipur also won a Gold Medalist 50 kg weight boxing category under Manipur junior girls. She belong to Inpui tribe in Manipur. She was also welcome and taken reception of her home coming by the Puichi Student Organization at Imphal Airport. Ms. Maria Pame D/O Mr. Ramsoulak Pame and Mrs. Manailiu Pame from Impa Village, also won a Gold Medalist 50 kg weight boxing category under Manipur junior girls. She belong to Zeme tribe in Manipur. The home coming of three Gold Medalist from Zeliangrongpui tribes has made the entire community and the Manipur state proud.
