Ratan Tata was an Indian industrialist, philanthropist, and former Chairman of the Tata Group. Ratan Tata is an icon of the Indian economy known for his famous brand Tata Group and also, he is the Chairman of the Company. He was born in Bombay (Mumbai) on 28th December 1937 and grown up in a very miserable condition as his parent is separated at the age of 10 and was adopted by his grandmother. He has completed his high school, college and university degree in 1975. He started his professional career and joined Tata in 1961 and have gone through many challenges and hard times during his tenure as the Chairman of Tata Group. Through his innovation he has also launched the Tata Nano, a low budget Car for the middle and lower-income consumers. He has done many philanthropist work for the country which is worth for the citizen of India and also helpful for the government of India. Ratan Tata received the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, India’s second and third highest civilian honors, respectively. His simplicity and philanthropist work are admired, inspired by the Indian youngsters to become like him in future. Ratan Tata retired as the Chairman of Tata Group in 2012 at the age of 75 and also served in the Company as the interim Chairman again in 2016-2017. Later, his critical health has compelled him to hospitalization and before his retirement he passed away at the age of 87 on 9th October 2024. The lost of the former Chairman of Tata Group, Ratan Tata is a great loss for the Country of India and its economy.
