Zeilad lake is famous for the tourist spot. The lake is a unique lake situated at the tropical rainforest of Manipur at Zeiladjang Village Makuai under Tousem Sub Division. The lake is known for home of Python. Recently there is a wide circulation in social media of D-2 and D-3 Oil exploration and many other developments project to start at Zeilad region under the name of Zeilad Wild Life Sanctuary. The project and proposal have been deemed for several years due to the several factors that could hindrance the local people living at the region. The hills people are dependent on the tropical rainforest for their livelihood as it is their traditional practice. The external affairs and project that comes in the name of Zeilad Wildlife Sanctuary such as Oil exploration and other means of protected land by government could hindrance the entire people living in the region. According to the RNCM, all such of the project and development should not takes place without the concern of the Apex Organization and local public for the good cause. RNCM is an Apex Organization of Rongmei Naga known as Rongmei Naga Council of Manipur. The RNCM on dated 19th Oct 2024 condemn all such of affairs by the entrepreneur, social activist and person holding as an agency of government which is against the interest of public. The RNCM also stated that it is against the right to properties of the indigenous Tribal Hills dwellers in Manipur under the Article 371 (C). The land and wealth belong to the Rongmei Naga Tribe in Manipur and is not justifiable for the exploration of Oil without the consent of the public and Apex Organization. The RNCM also appeal to all the Rongmei public and individual to stand up against such injustice and protect the legacies and heritage of our forefather in all capabilities. The RNCM also gave a caution to any individual or an organization to refrain from such activities that could hindrance the legacies of the forefather in the coming generation in good faith.
